My interest in Walt Disney's cartoon empire is waning, and "Lilo & Stitch" is the proof. Complimented by many as a great movie, one of Disney's best since "The Lion King," I had high hopes for this funny-looking movie about an alien creature that comes to Earth. Unfortunately, "Lilo & Stitch" is bland and rather boring, lacking the wit and humor that many of the computer-generated kid's movies have.

The concept is good enough for any kid's movie, but the dialogue just isn't there. The movie deals with such adult issues as foster care and so forth, but its themes (such as "Always stick together") seemed forced and just corny. Basically, "Lilo & Stitch" just isn't that funny.

Sure, I am out of "Lilo & Stitch's" age group, but I still enjoy some family films like "Toy Story" and "Shrek." If I like those and not this, what does that say?

I truly believe that the success of a cartoon does not depend on whether it was drawn traditionally or with a computer, but on the script. "Lilo & Stitch" has something to say, but it doesn't tell it effectively as a comedy.
